Volunteer Programs – Make an Impact &
Explore Zanzibar!
Join us for a life-changing volunteer experience where you will work directly with KVP populations to create real change. Whether you have one week or a month, your time and skills can make a difference. Plus, you'll get time to explore Zanzibar's beautiful beaches, rich culture, and vibrant history!
Volunteer Screening & Training
Given the sensitive nature of our work supporting KVP populations, we take the safety, dignity, and privacy of our community very seriously. To ensure that our volunteers are aligned with our values and mission, we have a thorough vetting and training process. All volunteers must undergo a screening process that includes an application review, background check, and interview to assess their motivations, experience, and understanding of human rights and harm reduction principles. Before starting, every volunteer participates in mandatory training covering cultural sensitivity, confidentiality, trauma-informed care, and ethical engagement with marginalized communities. This ensures that all volunteers approach their work with respect, professionalism, and a commitment to upholding the rights and well-being of those we serve.
