Violence Prevention & Response Teams (CVPRTs) – Fighting Back Against Abuse
Violence is one of the biggest threats faced by KVP populations. Reports of police brutality, arbitrary arrests, family rejection, and community violence are widespread, leaving many with nowhere to turn. To combat this, we established Community Violence Prevention & Response Teams (CVPRTs)—groups trained to provide first-line emotional, medical, and legal support to survivors of violence. These teams work in partnership with police gender desks, social workers, human rights lawyers, and local leaders to ensure cases are properly documented and followed up. We also conduct trainings for law enforcement to challenge bias and promote human rights. By strengthening our community’s ability to respond to violence and demand justice, we are not just protecting individuals—we are building a system where violence is no longer tolerated.
